Mathematics

Many European countries offer high standard English-taught postgraduate courses in Mathematics. These include the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands which specialises in Applied Mathematics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden which has divisions in mathematical statistics, numerical analysis, and optimization and systems theory; and the University of Copenhagen, which conducts international research in pure mathematics and applied mathematics and statistics. EHEVF 2016 India and South Asia participants the Politecnico di Milano in Italy and the University of Bristol in the UK also have strong international reputations for excellence in mathematics and are ranked amongst the QS World University Rankings 2016 Top 100. The School of Mathematics at the University of Bristol has 95 members of academic staff from over 24 countries and covers three areas of mathematics research – Applied Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, and Probability and Statistics all of which are offered as PhD or MSc by Research – whilst taught programmes include a 1 year MSc in Mathematical Sciences and MSc Statistics. The Politecnico di Milano offers postgraduate study in Italian in Mathematical Engineering. Imperial College London in the UK, ETH Zurich in Switzerland, TU Berlin in Germany, the University of Helsinki in Finland, and the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain are offer highly respected mathematics programmes.
