International Rankings: Chalmers University of Technology is ranked 132 in the world on QS 2015 and is also among the top 100 universities on some of QS subject specific ranking lists; Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The university has a large network within the industry and its high-end laboratories are open 24 hours, providing cutting-edge facilities for learning and research. All programmes are taught in English and are open to applicants from around the world. Through project-based assignments, we provide hands-on experience of working with others in multicultural teams in everything from planning and organizing, to meeting deadlines and presenting results. Through these projects you also learn to apply your theoretical knowledge to tackle complex problems – a necessary approach to real-life situations. Unique aspects: International students rate Chalmers learning as number 1 in Europe. According to the International Student Barometer, international students at Chalmers are very satisfied with the lecturer’s knowledge, course content and organization, and their use of feedback in teaching. Student Union at Chalmers also receives the highest rating. The results of the Swedish Higher Education Authority inspection of Swedish technology and engineering degrees have now been published. Chalmers stands out in the evaluation, with 16 of 45 degrees being classed as very high quality. None of its professional engineering degrees were adjudged to be of unsatisfactory quality.

The Master’s Programmes at Chalmers are strongly linked to advanced research in areas of particular strength. The programmes are taught in English and open to applicants from around the world. The duration is two years and upon completion of studies, candidates will be granted a Master’s degree, MSc. At Chalmers University of Technology we have approximately 1,000 Master’s students that come from countries other than Sweden. With teachers and students from various cultural backgrounds, the whole experience is designed to broaden your horizons and provide access to a greater network.


Bachelor's programmes at Chalmers are conducted in Swedish. In order to study one of these programmes you must prove formal knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to the upper secondary course Swedish 3/B. You must also fulfil the general entry requirements for Bachelor's studies and the specific entry requirements for the programme that you want to apply for. Scholarships are a great source of funding for Master's students who are liable to pay tuition fees. Chalmers University of Technology offers numerous scholarship opportunities.
