The Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) is one of the oldest educational institutions in Europe, with a long and distinguished history in training professionals in the aviation and transport industry.
The Riga Aeronautical Institute (RAI) is one of the oldest educational institutions of Northern Europe. Located in Latvia (a European Union Member State), RAI has rich experience and a tradition of training professionals in aviation and transport industries dating back to 1942. Since 1989 RAI has operated as an institution of higher education with many years of successful experience in the international educational service market. In 2010 RAI formed a strategic partnership with Pelican Flight Training, an FAA Certified Part 141 Flight School and Fixed Base Operator located at North Perry Airport (KHWO) and through this strategic partnership contracts were secured with some of the largest air carriers in the airline industry including Aeroflot, Utair and AirBaltic. Pelican Flight Training, which offers fixed wing (aeroplane) and rotary-wing (helicopter) training, is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC).
