KEA Copenhagen School of Design and Technology is a public Higher Education institution which was established in 2008. KEA is approved to offer programmes at Academy Professional Level (a short cycle qualification within Bologna first cycle Qualification Framework; EQF and NQF, level 5) and Professional Bachelor Level (a medium/long first cycle qualification within the Bologna Qualification Framework; EQF and NQF, level 6). KEA offers over 30 different educational programmes at Bachelor degree and Academy Professional degree levels. We have 4,800 full-degree students, of which 1,200 are international students. KEA offers 13 different programmes taught entirely in English, within the fields of Design, Communication, Construction and Technology. We have students from more than 60 different nations and plan to increase the number of incoming students even further. The study environment at KEA is relaxed and informal. We have an open learning environment i.e. not all class rooms have walls, teachers wear casual clothing and students address them by their first names. Lessons are scheduled and students are part of a specific semester class. Students often work in project groups of 3 to 5 people. As a student at KEA you will not always be told exactly what to do. Teachers provide knowledge, guidance and counseling, but you are expected to take responsibility for your own learning and the common results of your group. All our programmes are oriented towards the business sector and attach an equal amount of weight to theory and practice. Cooperation with enterprises in Denmark and abroad is therefore important to the quality of the programmes offered by KEA. An internship period, which has a minimum duration of 10 weeks, is a mandatory part of all programmes.
