Poznan University of Technology (PUT) grew out of the State School of Mechanical Engineering which was established in 1919. Currently, it is one of the leading technical universities in Poland which has become one of the most recognized landmarks of the Wielkopolska region, where industry is perfectly combined with education and culture. This autonomous state institution consista of ten faculties providing didactics for about 21,000 students.

PUT offers Bachelor, Master and Doctorate courses taught in Polish and English. Moreover there are postgraduate courses and workshops for people interested in updating their technical knowledge. 1,200 academic staff members conduct research and perform other educational tasks at PUT. Our motto “Technology in a Positive Climate” gives an idea of the university’s core principlers and the great consideration it has for its students. We focus on the needs of young people whom we know the future belongs to. This encouraging conviction continuously inspires us to work even harder.

PUT works in the field of education with 160 European universities and in the field of research with 70 universities from Great Britain, Germany, Japan, China, Taiwan, Ukraine ect. PUT is ranked among the best leading technical universities in Poland. According to the most significant ranking in Poland (http://www.perspektywy.pl/RSW2015/ranking-uczelni-akademickich) PUT is ranked in 14th of more than 100 public universities and 300 private institutions of higher education, and it is ranked the 5th best technical university in Poland. Moreover the English language courses offered by PUT are amongst the top five highest rated courses in Poland.

In terms of accomodation, PUT provides over 2,200 places in students’ dormitories, which are situated 2-3 minutes from the University. The rooms are double or triple, with a bathroom and a shared kitchen. Dormirories have access to the Internet, modern student canteen, outdoor basketball court and football pitch, and garden. All dormitories are heated and furnished.There is a laundry and some parking place.

At the PUT we also have the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) which is a non-profit international student organisation. The main mission is to represent international students, thus providing opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.The students from ESN also organise many activities for you during the whole academic year.The Academic Sporting Union /AZS/ has 30 sports clubs - and our students are successful in basketball, football, cancanoeing, wrestling, snowboarding, and volleyball.
