The Master’s Degree Programmes offered by the DIREI, a Department of the National University of Political Science and Administrative Studies, are designed to provide the essential skills for a successful career in the dynamic professional field of International Relations and European Integration. Many DIREI graduates work in positions within central public administrations including in; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian Government's international relations or European affairs Directorates (and authorities, agencies or councils), multinational companies, the media, international organizations and missions, academia, and companies involved in European funds management.
The DIREI is well known for its high academic standards and it offers an impressive range of courses, its master’s degree programmes including International Relations and European Integration, Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and European Politics and Economy. Two new professional specializations were introduced this year - 'Evaluation of European Public Policy and Programs', and 'Security and Diplomacy in the tradition of NATO' executive masters. The DIREI Master’s Degree Programmes are multifaceted in that offer high standard general training, whilst providing the options for niche specialization. Moreover, next year DIREI plans to launch several additional new master’s degree programmes including 'Social Economy', 'The European Socioeconomic Model', 'Diplomacy and Negotiation', 'Advanced Studies in International Relations' and 'European Integration'.
The DIREI has a strong international orientation and it is popular with graduates across the disciplines including graduates of International Relations, European Studies, Political Science, History, as well as graduates of Foreign Languages, Literature, Sociology, Communication. Our programmes have also proved popular with economists interested in increasing their chances of securing a post within the EU institutions, the UN, NATO, OSCE, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization. Many DIREI graduates acquire or complete their training with the aim of becoming diplomats, experts and negotiators in international institutions and international organizations, experts in ministries, county councils, prefectures or municipalities, public policy and programme evaluators, experts in European funds, and mediators of international conflicts.
