We are located at the capital area with excellent career prospects and working opportunities beside studies. International community with 1400 foreign degree students, covering over 100 nationalities. 

Our modern, comfortable and inspiring four campuses located at the capital area of Finland are within easy reach by public transport. Metropolia is very innovation-centered and multidisciplinary UAS with top-notch industry experience and networks. Number of large-scale companies are using our knowledge and expertise when i.e. developing and testing variety of industrial embedded solutions. Metropolia has yearly around 100 ongoing RDI projects in various fields; here just few major examples:

Sohjoa Baltic researches, promotes and pilots automated driverless electric minibuses. Sohjoa Baltic consortium has partners from Finland, Estonia, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Norway and Denmark, and Metropolia UAS is one of these partners. 

Helsinki XR Center - The gateway to Finnish VR and AR, operated by Metropolia UAS together with Finnish Virtual Reality Association FIVR. The Center is powered by the City of Helsinki and Business Finland.

Urban Farm Lab -Urban Indoor Food Platform; a show-room and co-working space as well as urban farming ecosystem space. Pilot phase funded by The Finnish National Fund Sitra and Metropolia.You get to study in outstanding, modern learning environments by using the latest technologies, such as augmented reality. The unique combinations of our fields of studies and the culture of experimentation create the prerequisites for creating something new. Metropolia Workshop has undertaken a large variety of different projects, i.e. complex passenger vehicle prototypes, such as the electric supercar Angelica in 2017 and the biomaterial-based Biofore Concept Car, premiered at the 84th Geneva International Motor Show in 2014. Metropolia’s Nursing students have been awarded three times with the Queen Silvia Nursing Award; Nursing student Janina Viitasaari being the latest awarded winner in 2019 with her winning idea to utilize an existing audio memory book and adapt it to the needs of older people and people with memory challenges. Additionally, in year 2015, Metropolia UAS received an honorary award granted by H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden. We have a long history of teaching in English on the Bachelor level and joint curriculum design. Ranked as having the best teaching in UAS’s Business degree programmes in Finland. (Survey conducted for all UAS graduates in Finland in 2017.)
