Stefan cel Mare University of Suceava underwent an external institutional assessment made by the European University Association (EUA). International recognition is given by the numerous European projects (FP5, FP6, FP7, Erasmus, Tempus, Leonardo etc.), and also by more than 200 agreements and cooperation protocols with higher education institutions in more than 35 countries. Our university publishes various scientific journals, indexed in international databases (Scopus, Ebsco etc.); Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering® is the best Romanian scientific journal in the field, a peer-reviewed journal published by our Faculty of Electrical Engineering. USV is ranked 1sr among Romanian universities by the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (SOIT) both in terms of patent requests and patents awarded by SOIT during the last decade. Located in the beautiful and multicultural land of Bukovina, USV is surrounded by the greatest density of UNESCO monuments from this part of Europe, precious art monuments, great spiritual life and rich folklore traditions offering its students great opportunities for extra-curriculum activities. As USV student one can enjoy the life in a modern campus with exquisite study and research conditions, with an education process oriented towards the student’s needs. The university provides accommodation for students in 6 residential facilities of European standards and modern services in a new university restaurant of 250 seats, 2 exhibitions halls, a library with 6 reading rooms. The campus is placed in the centre of the city and itcomprises almost 66.000 square meters of teaching facilities. All university buildings are equipped with teaching rooms, laboratories with computers and equipment necessary for research and study. They all qualify as favourable places for the development and affirmation of students and teachers. Suceava Student Cultural Center encourages students to embrace cultural and artistic activities, in cooperation with the USV Planetarium, USV Radio Station and USV Theatre group. There are also 15 NGOs happy to offer assistance to enrich students’ experience at USV. Bukovina’s great natural setting provides a major attraction for outdoor leisure pursuits: countryside touring by car, bike or foot; fishing; skiing; river rafting; trekking; horseback riding; mountain climbing; mountain biking. Our region is well connected by a network of roads and railways to the Black Sea and Transylvania.
