Designs and Crafts

Studying a Design & Crafts course in a European University will encompass many different areas of both traditional and cutting edge techniques used to design and create objects. Students will use 3D printing, traditional hand design and digital manipulation with a variety of materials such as clay, plastic, wood and much more to craft items. Many universities offer dedicated studio space to students and the subject is increasing in popularity in universities and colleges in Europe. One of the most influential schools for this subject is the University of the Arts London, which is the world's leading specialist creative university. UAL draws together six renowned Colleges, each with a long established, global reputation for producing outstanding work: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion, Wimbledon College of Arts. EHEVF 2016 India and South Asia participant the Estonian Academy of Arts is the only public university in Estonia offering higher education in fine arts, design, architecture, media, visual studies, art culture, cultural heritage and conservation. The Estonian Academy of Arts is a leading national and international centre of innovation in visual culture. In addition to active study and research, the EAA also offers lifelong learning opportunities through the Open Academy. Another EHEVF 2016 participant is ESAD - College of Art and Design in Portugal. Founded in 1989 it is well known in the field of design and the arts at training and at the research level.
